New Oak Management Publication
A new publication is now available to help landowners choose practices to encourage oak-hickory ecosystems on their property. This habitat is critically important to thousands of species, but they are threatened due to reduced forestry management which has limited oak regeneration. A meaningful action that all forest landowners can make is to support the oak-hickory ecosystem, increasing the biodiversity of plants and animals to the benefit of everyone across the state. Authored by staff from Purdue University, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and American Bird Conservancy, this 12-page publication describes practices a landowner can use to help improve oak regeneration.
