Indiana Forestry Educational Foundation Announces 2026–2027 Educational Grant Program
The Indiana Forestry Educational Foundation (IFEF) has announced the opening of its 2026–2027 Educational Grant Program, offering competitive funding opportunities to organizations and groups working to educate Indiana woodland owners and the public about forestry, woodland management, and related conservation topics. Grants of up to $500 are available for eligible educational projects, with funding of up to $1,000 available for special forestry projects.
The program is designed to support innovative educational initiatives that advance understanding of Indiana’s forests, encourage responsible woodland stewardship, and promote sustainable forest management practices. IFEF has identified a special interest in projects focused on young forests, while also welcoming proposals that address invasive species prevention and control on private woodland property.
Eligible applicants must be Indiana-based and submit the online IFEF grant application. The foundation encourages projects that utilize innovative educational approaches, including technology-based and virtual learning methods. Proposed projects should be scheduled to begin and end between January 1, 2027, and December 31, 2027, although project timelines may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to accommodate forestry, weather, and other project-specific conditions.
All funded projects must comply with applicable local regulations and recommended health and safety guidelines. Grant funding will be distributed upon completion of approved projects and submission of required documentation.
Applications must be submitted online no later than midnight on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Award recipients will be announced in December 2026. IFEF notes that grant funding is awarded through a competitive review process and that submission of an application does not guarantee funding. Awards will be made based on available funds and at the sole discretion of the foundation.
