Winter Webinar- Backyard Sugaring for Beginners

This is the first of IFWOA’s winter Webinars and it features Kurt Lanzone discussing maple syrup production.

Kurt Lanzone is a Purdue University Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator in Parke County. A long-time maple tree tapper, Kurt continues the tradition with his family in their own woods. He was part of a Purdue University Extension team that received USDA funding to assist maple syrup producers with marketing, educational resources, increasing producer knowledgebase, and best practices for beginners. As part of this initiative, Kurt developed a program titled “Backyard Sugaring for Beginners,” designed to help newcomers successfully start their own maple syrup production.
