Plant ID Walk- Newton-Stewart State Recreation Area

Natural areas in southern Indiana feature many beneficial native plants, but also destructive invasive plants such as Garlic Mustard, Autumn Olive, Japanese Stiltgrass, and Burning Bush. These plants can look different throughout the season which is why two local groups are teaming up this year to provide four free plant ID walks in Dubois and Orange Counties. Join the Invasive Species Awareness Coalition (ISAC) of Dubois County, and the Orange County Invasives Partnership to brush up on your plant ID skills in Spring, Summer, or Fall.

Patoka Lake Newton-Stewart State Recreation Area (Birdseye, IN). This walk will take place along a portion of the bike trail that runs next to the main road. Meet at the Bike Trail Parking Lot that is south of County Rd 1025 S (38.400603, -86.659526). State park pass or daily entry fee required.
