National Trails Day Hike and Learn

Join the Patoka Lake Watershed Committee & their partners for a Hike & Learn in celebration of National Trails Day! This FREE event will feature information on our natural world and the role water plays in it. Those interested in joining one of the guided nature hikes should meet at the Patoka Watershed booth at the scheduled start time. Each guided hike will start at the Farmers Market and walk together to the Riverwalk.

AGENDA:
8:00 AM Find us at the east end of the Farmer’s Market by the schoolhouse for informational booths and educational activities!
8:30 AM Birding the Riverwalk: With Marion Mason, Hoosier National Forest. Any birder, beginner to expert will enjoy this walk to discover the birds around us and what habitats they prefer. Bring binoculars if you like.
9:30 AM River’s Edge Ramble: With Carla Striegel-Winner, Dubois County SWMD. Explore the Riverwalk with this hike to ID what is around us, where the water goes and how we all fit into the picture!
10:30 AM Rain Drop to River, Stormwater’s Journey: With Chad Mundy, City of Jasper Stormwater. Only rain in the storm drain! But why and what does that mean? Join Chad to discover what happens when it rains in Jasper!
