Forestry field day: Noble County

This field tour will be held at a 40 acre forest just ¼ mi south of the LaGrange/Noble County line on Noble County road 225 W.  Quentin Beahrs, IDNR District Forester will be the main speaker, talking about the Classified Forests program and developing a woods for recreational purposes including camping, hiking, hunting and birdwatching.  Tom Crowe Forestry Consultants will be represented and available to speak on identification of tree species, Timber Stand Improvement, EQIP, Forestry management and planning for timber production. Jamie Perry will be there representing IASWCD and urban agriculture.

The event is free and will include a morning snack of coffee and donuts, as well as lunch following the program.  Dress appropriately for this outdoor activity.  Restroom facilities available on site.  Program will begin at 9:00 am and is scheduled to last until 1:00 pm (including lunch time).
