
Explore the Starke County Forest

Celebrating World Environment Day! Nature lovers and creatives of all kinds are encouraged to bring along their cameras, easels, sketchpads, notebooks, and other artistic tools to use as they gain inspiration from the Starke County Forest through these informative hikes led by local experts from various fields.
There will be 2 hikes- one 9:30 AM-11 AM Central (10:30-12 eastern) and one 1 PM-2:30 PM Central (2-3:30 eastern).
Hikes are led by:
Bruce Wakeland, forester: Forest Management
Mark Krom, Knox science teacher: Birds of the Starke County Forest
Ben Wilson, IDNR district forester: Invasive Plants and Management Assistance Programs
There will be two hikes also on Sunday June 4th at the same times, but with different speakers and topics. See the event flyer
