Forest Management for the Private Woodland Owner is a Purdue University short course providing knowledge and resources to help landowners make informed decisions in the care and management of their forests. The workshop will run eight (8) consecutive weeks on Thursday evenings 6-9pm along with two Saturday field tours. Class size is limited to 40 registrants on a first-come, first-serve basis. Join Forestry and Wildlife professionals for an introduction to using prescribed fire in woodlands. The workshop will cover the benefits for prescribed fire, safety considerations when using prescribed fire, prescribed fire equipment, and technical and cost-share opportunities for private landowners. 2019 Annual Wildflower Hike

This hike is sponsored by the White River RC&D, and led by Kay Yatskievych (author of Wildflowers of Indiana) and Carroll Ritter. It  will be at the Pioneer Mothers Memorial Forest south of Paoli (off US 150). Pioneer Mothers is an old growth forest on the Hoosier National Forest. There will be two hikes: 10:30-12:00 am and 12:30-2:00 pm.  Cost is $12/person with pre-registration and payment required.
